SHORT CURRICULUM VITAE
Orestis Vavatsioulas is Architect with Doctoral degree of the N.T.U. of Athens. After his graduation from the German School of Salonica (1972) he studied Architecture in the T.U. Hannover (1972-77). He earned his Postgraduate Diploma at the T.U. Munich (1987), which is in the field of Monument Protection-Restoration. His Thesis, in the field of Construction history, emphasizes in the building research (Bauforschung, Building Archaeology).
He is working since 1978 for the Ministry of Culture (now as Director of the Ephorate of Contemporary and Modern Monuments of Attica), on the one hand researching and on the other working out studies pertaining to the Preservation and Restoration of Monuments-Historical Buildings (Architectural Heritage). He was lecturer in the School of Architecture Engineering in the University of Patras and he was also teaching in the Democritio University of Thrace on the above field. Part of the above mentioned work has been published and presented to international congresses and exhibitions.
